A letter from Ileana
Hey everyone!
I’m Ileana, and I’m the founder of The Babysitter Co.
I started this business because I genuinely love kids. I’ve been around babies, toddlers, and families my whole life...literally. My mom has been a full-spectrum doula most of my life, and soon she'll be a homebirth midwife. She also homeschools my brother and I, is the co-founder of our microschool, and shes always helping kids and families in our community. She’s always showing up for people in powerful ways. Watching her care for others inspired me to start doing the same, in my own way.
I’ve helped with little ones at home, in our community, and at her school... Root to Rise Microschool, where care and learning are everything. Over time, I realized, this isn’t just something I’m good at, it’s something I really love. So, I created The Babysitter Co.
I started this so parents can have someone they trust, and kids can have someone they enjoy, who truly listens, plays, and makes them feel safe and seen. Whether we’re doing crafts, playing games, reading books, or just chilling, I try to make every kid feel like they are special, because they are!
I’ve learned CPR and babysitting basics under my mom and i even took my postpartum doula training with her as a part of my homeschool health class. I've already supported a few moms as clients! In everything i do, I lead with kindness, patience, and fun in my heart..and now friends and teens in the community can join me and learn to do the same.

Our Story
The Babysitter Co. started with one big heart, a bunch of little ones, and a vision to build something rooted in care, trust, and community.
Ileana grew up surrounded by babies, birth workers, and big love. As the daughter of Taja Iglesias, founder of The Momager Co. and Root to Rise Microschool, caregiving has always been more than just a “job” for her...it’s been a way of life. She’s spent her whole life learning what it means to really show up for others, whether it’s holding space for a toddler meltdown or helping a parent take a well-earned break.
In 2024, Ileana decided to turn that natural gift into something official. it started with a homeschool project and then with some hard work and dedication The Babysitter Co. was born. Built by a teen, but backed by a whole village, the business reflects a new generation of caregivers: emotionally intelligent, gentle, creative, and committed to doing things differently.
Our mission is simple:
To create safe, fun, and affirming spaces for kids—while giving parents peace of mind.
